Standing beneath a banner reading "Our People Make the Difference," the Park Seed Company executive team honored its long-term employees at a reception on Friday, May 12, 2006. Human Resources Director Regina Berry welcomed the group and explained that it is a Park Seed tradition to celebrate and thank employees for their service every year as the Spring busy season draws to a close. Karen Park Jennings, granddaughter of company founder George W. Park, added her heartfelt thanks for the year’s excellent results, noting "We couldn’t succeed without the hard work of everyone in this room! Thank you—muchas gracias!" Department heads then introduced their associates who are celebrating significant anniversaries, presenting them with a small gift and a certificate of accomplishment. Those celebrating five years of service are: Ofelia Carbajal, Ventura Cisneros, Arleen Davis, Christopher Gandee, Myra Gilcrist, Maria Guzman, Ismael Justo, Joyce Kyzer, Jack Latham, Maricella Lopez, Raquel Lopez, Elia Lorenzo, Travis Miller, Carlos Price, Ashley Sheets, Linda Sprowl, Tina Taylor, and Joe Tucker. The ten-year veterans are: Sandra Brown, Rhonda Donaldson, Patricia Hanley, Jane Harvey, Eva Mathis, Lois Mitchell, and Chrystalyn Tenney Fifteen years of service have been completed by: Kathy Adams, Deborah Allen, Henrietta Austin, Clayton Langley, Ronnie Mackey, Phillis Peterson, and Cynthia Warren. Joining the ranks of those with 25 years—and a reserved parking space!—are: Carol McCoy, Brent Thomas, and Pam Thomas. Finally, Tommy Holland was honored for his 30 years of service. As of today, Park Seed has 23 active employees with 25 or more years of service. As a special surprise, representatives from Greenwood Municipal Federal Credit Union donated two tickets to visit Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.
