Flower Day at Park Seed Company is the heart of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers. The Flower Day open house event is the one day each year that Park Seed Company’s professional horticulturists provide guided tours of their famous 9-acre Trial Gardens. Bring the whole family – and a camera – to experience first-hand more than 2,000 varieties of gorgeous plants at their peak!

Park Seed is also home and headquarters to Wayside Gardens, America’s premiere source for the newest, most unusual, and hardest-to-find plants from around the world. Both companies are located here in Greenwood, South Carolina and are leaders in the mail-order gardening business.

The famous Trial Gardens allow Park Seed and Wayside Gardens’ renowned research horticulturists to compare new flower and vegetable varieties with old-time favorites and proven performers. Only the best are selected and featured in upcoming catalogs. The Trial Gardens present several special-focus areas in lovely landscape settings, including theme gardens, a container garden display, a Rose garden, and the prestigious All-America Selections trials.

Come join us for a day of flowers, food, and fun. We will also be having a sale in our on-site Garden Center. Prices are cut drastically to move out inventory for fall plants. To better serve our customers buying large quantities of plants, employees will be on-hand with golf carts to escort visitors to and from the parking areas. Restrooms and picnic areas are also available. For 2010, our food vendors include McCallister's Deli, Chick-fil-a, and Bruster's.

1:00pm-1:45pm "Container Gardening from Annuals to Edibles" discussion by Stephanie Turner.
