Voted one of the Southeast Tourism Society's "Top Twenty Events," the 41st Annual South Carolina Festival of Flowers is truly one of the most exciting events to attend this year. Budding from Park Seed Company's Flower Day, the festival has become a month-long extravaganza filled with a variety of events for the whole family. The festival opens June 6th and concludes June 29th.
With almost 60 festival events scheduled this June, thirty will be held during the weekend of June 20 – June 22. The South Carolina Festival of Flowers hosts events for all ages including: Antique Car Show, street dance, triathlon, tennis tournaments, American Girl Luncheon, KidFest, horse show and much more. All sports lovers can also enjoy golf tournaments at the Greenwood Country Club and fishing on Lake Greenwood. This year, don't forget to visit the Square in Uptown Greenwood, which will feature a 16 exhibit Safari themed topiary display that includes a monkey, an alligator, and a life-sized safari jeep.
Park Seed Company, celebrating its 140th anniversary, will be hosting several events on-site. They are also allowing visitors to browse their beautiful 9-acre trial gardens or take a detailed tour with one of Park Seed's very own Horticulturists. Paul James, host of HGTV's Gardening by the Yard, will have two Q&A sessions, as well as an autograph tent. The Garden Center will be open for visitors to choose from an imposing array of seeds, plants, and unique gardening accessories.
