• The Staff Accountant assigned to cash must (1) calculate and monitor daily cash balances, (2) develop procedures to improve the accuracy of accounting records relating to liquid assets, (3) allocate advertising costs based on a ratio of budgeted to actual sales, and (4) maintain records of the amortization of customer acquisition costs.
• The Staff Accountant assigned to cash forecasting must (1) analyze cash inflows and outflows for the weekly cash forecasting model submitted to the Chief Financial Officer, (2) establish vendor profiles within the Accounts Payable system, (3) creation of monthly TSA invoices from Park Seed to Jackson & Perkins and (4) Special Financial Projects.
• The Staff Accountant assigned to inventory must (1) track, record and control the Company’s inventory (units / cost), (2) consult with the Product Administration Team to resolve inventory variances, (3) coordinate the physical inventory, (4) audit disbursements for compliance with the Capitalization Policy and (5) maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• The Staff Accountant assigned to reporting must (1) generate and maintain all financial statements, (2) attest to the accuracy of the General Ledger, (3) research major variances, (4) serve as a back up to the Accounting Manager, (4) support the remote Jackson & Perkins Controller and (5) make correcting, adjusting and closing entries as deemed appropriate by the Accounting Manager and/or Controller.
